- Push vs. pull
2. POSTURE
- Straight back
- Pelvic tilt
- Shoulders
- Foot position - keep even, not pigeon toed or otherwise, knees in alignment
- Elbows
- Layback
3. RHYTHM & TIMING
- Teamwork (psychological and mental awareness of other people in the boat)
- Body swing
- Breathing - not holding breath, relaxing
- Listening, using other senses - closed eye rowing
- Slide control - component of boat speed
4. BALANCE
- Core
- Hands
- Legs locked down/hip balance
- Bodt centeredness
5. GRIP
- Wrists (no over-or under-gripping)
- Thumbs on ends
- Relaxed (heel of hand off the grip, hang off handles) - no squeezing
- Gluing finger pads
- Square grip - fingers square to handle
- Blisters - not on palms
