Coached Row Information

All members can benefit from the ongoing coaching provided during the supervised rows each week. An NCCP trained coach and safety boat are on hand at every coached row.

This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in sculling as well as meet new friends and form boat crews. All you need to do is show up at the boathouse during the scheduled time and row. Our club provides supervised rows throughout spring, summer and fall.

Weather conditions and other factors may affect the scheduled rows.

2010 Masters' Periodization Plan

• Coaches and Co-ordinators have been busy planning a whole new look for the Coached Row Season. We hope to have a more consistent format. Coaches will incorporate a club "training program". Formation os crews will be encouraged. Regatta preparations will be a focus. Coached Rows are intended for rowers of all abilities. Novices will get the attention they need to feel comfortable on the water. Experienced rowers will get lots of tips to improve their technique and performance. Talk to any of our coaches about the program.

• External Regatta Co-ordinator, Mary Tisdelle, will be providing information about the upcoming Regatta season, as well as some suggestions about which ones we may like to attend as a club.

• One of our coaches, Leigh Holyoak, will be out on the waer once a month using the NRC vidoe camera and recording the crews. She hopes to use this tool to help give feedback and tips on each crews' rowing performance.

• CLUB ROWS will be scheduled regularly throughout the season. The focus for the Club Row, as always, is FUN! Come out to row and mix up the crews. Enjoy a great day of getting acquainted by rowing together! There are social events planned alongside of these rows; picnics, BBQs, visits by guest clubs, etc. Any and all offers to help the socail committee is much appreciated (please contact Stephanie Payne)!
